UA VICTORIA BOOKCLUB MEETING:
DISCUSSION OF NOVEL ‘THE GIRL WITH THE BEAR’ BY VIKTOR DORMONTOVYCH

  • June 1, 2024

  • 1:00 – 2:30 PM
  • Beacon Hill Park, 100 Cook Street, Victoria, BC

We invite you to read and discuss one of Viktor Domontovych’s most famous novels, The Girl with the Bear. An exciting and rather extravagant novel written in 1928-1929.
This is a brilliant example of intellectual prose about changing cultural orientations and the tragic split of a person who had to live in a time of crisis.
The novel “The Girl with the Bear” touchingly tells about the love between a moderate teacher and his rebellious student. The love story of their hearts is intertwined with the change of cultural orientations and the tragic fragmentation of a person living in a time of crisis.
