My Dear Ukrainian Community Members,
I would like to express my gratitude for supporting my nomination and further election as a President of UCCSVI. I hesitated these last few weeks when I was approached by some friends suggesting I run for President. It was not an easy decision but when I saw enormous support from both newcomers and the older generation during the elections, it only confirmed my choice. The last 8 months have been the most exhausting for all Ukrainians and Vancouver Island residents with Ukrainian ancestry. Our community grew with geometric progression in the last 8 months due to the unforeseen events. And while I have always liked to meet new members, I never expected the community growth that would happen so fast under such grievous circumstances.
I want to take this moment to express my sincere gratitude for the service of the past Board Members. Board service is a tough volunteer role, and you took on your duties with dedication, grace, and seriousness. I am most grateful for your active leadership as judicious stewards of our organization in past years. Being a Board Member at Large myself during the last 2 years taught me many lessons and helped me to understand how the Board works, see its strong points and to predict areas of improvement.
Many of you have heard my plans about the future vision of the UCCSVI which I hope we will move forward with as a new team. This will be a long road ahead and we will ask for your support as we grow our vision together. The last 8 years of war in Ukraine has shown that we may unite as One independently of our political, religion or other views.
I have one dream… And my dream is to celebrate our Victory one day all together.
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
Thank you Canada for your support!
